This page covers the site at dashsuey.com and the app at app.dashsuey.com: what we collect, why, who else handles it, and how to have it deleted. DashSuey is run by Adam Culpepper. For any question about your data, email info@dashsuey.com.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not pass it to advertisers.

Visits
Google Analytics measures visits to this site. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google the pages you view, your approximate location, and details of your browser and device. You can block it with Google's opt-out add-on or any tracker blocker.
The waiting list
If you join the waiting list we keep your email address, your answer to "What would you put on your board?" if you gave one, and any campaign tags on the address you arrived at (such as utm_source), which tell us which ad or post brought you. Netlify receives the form and passes it to our database. Addresses from throwaway mail services are refused and not stored.
The playground
To show weather where you are, the page asks our host, Netlify, for your approximate location, which it works out from your IP address. The answer is a city and coordinates rounded to about a kilometer, and we do not store it. The page then asks our server for a forecast at those coordinates. Your browser keeps the forecast, the location and anything you type in the playground's sticky note in its own storage on your device. A search typed into the playground's Search widget goes straight to the search engine you picked.
If the address you arrived at carries campaign tags, links from this site to the app carry them too.
In the app
Your account
You sign in with Google. We receive your email address and the name and profile photo on your Google account. We also keep your plan, and the language and time zone your browser reports, so dates in our emails read the way you write them.
Your boards
We store your boards, the widgets on them, their settings, and what you type into them: notes, tables, to-dos, reminders, places for the weather widgets, and the birth date the Life Dots widget counts from.
Accounts you connect
Some widgets read your data from another service. When you connect GitHub, Spotify, Google Search Console, Instagram, Facebook, Threads or TikTok, that service gives us an access token, and we store it so the widget can keep reading. For Spotify you also give us the ID and secret of your own Spotify app, and the Claude Usage widget stores the token you paste into it. We use these only to fetch what the widget shows. They are kept in our database, which only our server can read; they are not encrypted separately. Removing the widget or disconnecting the service deletes the access token. Your Spotify app's ID and secret stay until you remove them with Your Spotify app in the widget's settings, because every Spotify and Album Wall widget on your account shares them.
Sign-ins
Each time you sign in we record the time, your browser, an approximate location worked out from your IP address, and a scrambled form of the IP address (a salted hash, not the address itself). We delete these records after 90 days.
Where you came from
The first time you arrive at the app from a link carrying campaign tags, we set a cookie called ds_first_touch that holds those tags, the page you landed on and the site that sent you. It lasts 90 days. When you first sign in, we save it to your account, so we can tell which ads and posts bring people who stay.
Analytics and performance
The app has its own Google Analytics property. Besides page views, it records when an account is created, when someone starts a checkout, and when a payment goes through, with the plan and price. It is not sent your name, email or account ID. We also record how fast pages load for you, with your account ID, to find slow boards.
We send account emails through Resend: a welcome, trial reminders, invitations, billing notices, and a note if you have been away for a while. We keep a record of each one: the address, the subject and whether it was sent. The reminders and promotions carry an unsubscribe link, and your mail app's own unsubscribe button works on them too. Emails about your account itself, like billing and your plan, always come.
Payments
Stripe runs checkout and billing. Stripe collects your card and billing address, and we never see your card number. We keep Stripe's IDs for you and your subscription, your subscription's status, and the notices Stripe sends us about payments.
Cookies
The app sets cookies that keep you signed in, the ds_first_touch cookie above, and a short-lived one while you connect a social account. Google Analytics sets its own.
Who else handles your data
- Supabase holds our database and runs sign-in.
- Netlify hosts both sites, receives the waiting-list form, and tells us your approximate location from your IP address.
- Google handles sign-in and Google Analytics.
- Stripe handles payments.
- Resend sends our email.
- MET Norway supplies the weather. Our server asks it for a forecast at coordinates rounded to about 10 km, with nothing else about you.
- OpenWeather supplies air quality readings, asked the same way.
- OpenStreetMap turns the place you type into a weather widget into coordinates. Your browser asks it directly, so it also sees your IP address.
- Gravatar may show a picture for your email address. The app sends it a hash of the address, not the address.
- ipify and ipapi answer the Your IP Address widget, which by its nature sends them your IP address.
- The services you connect, and the sites whose feeds or images you add to a widget, which your browser or our server contacts to show them.
Who at DashSuey can see it
The owner and admins can see member accounts, the waiting list, where members signed in from and which campaign brought them. To help with a problem, the owner can open a member's board in a read-only view.
Your data and deleting it
In the app, Settings, then Account, has Download my data, which gives you a copy of your boards and account, and a button to delete your account. Deleting takes effect at once and cannot be undone. It removes your login, your boards and widgets, the tokens of accounts you connected, your sign-in records, where you came from, your roadmap votes and your notifications.
A few records stay after that: the entry in our audit log that says the account was deleted, which includes your email address; our log of emails we sent you; your waiting-list entry, if you had one; the invitation that brought you in; and billing records from Stripe.
Deleting your account also cancels a Pro subscription, at once. If Stripe cannot cancel it, nothing is deleted, so you are never left paying for an account that is gone.
For anything the app does not do for you, such as removing your waiting-list entry, a copy of what we hold beyond the download, or a correction, email info@dashsuey.com.
Facebook, Instagram and Threads
If you connected Instagram, Facebook or Threads to a widget, you can remove it from the widget, or remove DashSuey under Apps and websites in your Facebook or Instagram settings. When you remove it there, Meta tells us, we delete the token we stored for that account, and Meta shows you a confirmation code. You can also email info@dashsuey.com and we will delete it.
Children
DashSuey is not for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly keep an account for one.
