Todo List
A to-do list widget on your start page, on every computer
Type a task and press Enter. Tick it off and it drops under Done. The list sits on your DashSuey board next to the rest of your day, and it's saved to your account, so it's there on any computer where you sign in.
- Needs
- Nothing. Type a task.
- Saves
- To your account, as you add and tick
- Shows
- On every computer you sign in on
On your board, next to the rest of your day
The list beside a clock, today's date, a countdown to Friday evening and a note. The board is saved to your account, so the list is there on the work laptop and the computer at home.
Clock
Date
Count Down
Sticky Note
Every tile here is live. The list on this board is an example, and what you add to it stays in this tab.
What you can do
- Add
- Type a task and press Enter, or press Add.
- Tick
- It moves under Done, struck through. Untick it to bring it back.
- Delete
- The x on the row deletes the task.
- More lists
- Each Todo List widget keeps its own list. Add a second one for a second list, like work and home.
- Where it lives
- On your account, with your board, on every computer you sign in on. A board already open somewhere else shows the change when it reloads.
- Removing the widget
- Deletes its list with it, the way removing a Sticky Note deletes its text.
Where the list is kept
In your DashSuey account, saved as you add, tick and delete. That's how it follows you from a work laptop to a home computer, in any browser, with nothing to install.
It lives on your board in a browser tab, not on the Windows or Mac desktop itself. Make the board your start page, or keep it in a pinned tab, and the list is one click away.
What it does not do
- It doesn't edit or reorder tasks. New ones go to the bottom.
- It has no due dates, alarms or priorities. For an alert at a time, use Reminders.
- It can't be shared, and it isn't a phone widget.
Questions people ask
Is there a to-do list widget?
Yes, many: on Windows, on phones and in browser start pages. DashSuey's Todo List is a widget on your DashSuey board, a web page you sign into, so it works in any browser on any computer. It isn't a phone widget, and it doesn't sit on the desktop itself.
Can I put a to-do list on my desktop?
Not on the desktop itself. The Todo List lives on your board, in a browser tab, and can't float above your other windows. Make your board the browser's start page, or keep it in a pinned tab, and the list is one click away.
Will my list be on my other computer?
Yes. Your tasks are saved to your DashSuey account, so they're there on every computer you sign in on. If the board is already open on another computer, reload it to see the latest list.
Where are my tasks saved?
In your DashSuey account, with the rest of your board. That is how the list follows you. The example list at the top of this page is different: what you type there stays in this browser tab.
Can I have more than one list?
Yes. Each Todo List widget keeps its own list, so add one for work and one for home, on the same board or on different boards.
Can I edit or reorder my tasks?
No. New tasks go to the bottom, and ticked ones move under Done. To change a task, delete it and type it again.
What happens to tasks I tick off?
They move under Done, struck through. Untick one to bring it back. They stay until you delete them with the x on the row.
Can it remind me about a task?
Not by itself: the Todo List has no due dates or alarms. The Reminders widget does, and alerts you in the browser when one comes due.
Does it work offline?
No. Each task is saved to your account as you add it, so the board needs a connection.
Do I need to install anything?
No. DashSuey is a web page you sign into. It isn't a browser extension, and there's no mobile app.
Is it "to do list" or "to-do list"?
Dictionaries write "to-do list", with the hyphen. Search engines treat the two alike. The widget itself is called Todo List.
